Vattenfall is now looking for the right person to fill the position as an Offshore Service Technician at Aberdeen Offshore Windfarm.
Business Area Wind is responsible for Vattenfall’s Onshore and Offshore Wind as well as other non-hydro Renewable activities like PV/Solar. Today we develop, construct and operate wind generation in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. In addition, we have a clear strategy to develop our Solar operations further. Business Area Wind is a large contributor to Vattenfall’s ambition to be ‘Fossil Free Within One Generation’.

What will you do?
- Positive approach to safety standards and contribution to continuous improvement;
- Complying with all health and safety requirements including the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR);
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with agreed method statements and risk assessments;
- Proactive identification and reporting of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults;
- Recommendations for improvement of operational procedures;
- Logging of service work into plant maintenance system;
- Applicants will be expected to work at heights and in an offshore environment;
- Fault finding and repair of turbine components;
- Involved in service work, involving heavy lifting operations using mobile cranes and lifting equipment;
- Fault finding, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair on all turbine systems, which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies and major components;
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime;
- Providing out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown or other critical tasks;
- Complete service records and checklists (ie. AWPs, Method statements, etc);
- Interrogation and analysis of Wind turbine SCADA systems and CMS for proactive fault finding;
- Reporting all required details into Vattenfall SAP (Management System).
Location
Position is based in Aberdeen, Scotland. (CTV site)
The successful candidate should be resident of Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire. The successful candidate will be required to travel to complete further training at alternative Vattenfall windfarms and training centres across the UK and possibly Europe, particularly within the first 12 months of the position.

Your profile / who are you?
- Must be a positive team player and a self-starter
- Must be able to transport themselves to/from the port of mobilisation
- Technicians will return onshore after each shift
- Onshore accommodation is not provided by Vattenfall
- Equal time shift rotation, currently 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off
Besides that is important:
- Authorised Technician
- Experience with HV Switching Operations is desirable
- Good IT skills (Office applications and S.A.P system)
- Electrical and/or mechanical apprenticeship
- Wind Turbine or similar technology back ground
- HV knowledge/ experience
