This is an outstanding opportunity for an Service Desk Administrator with IT skills & knowledge to be a part of the IT Service Desk, based at our Ipswich site.

Purpose of Role:
- To provide an efficient and courteous first line support service to staff as a member of the Trust’s Service Desk that provides IT support.
- To support Desktop Systems.
- To provide support for Trust IT systems and applications, managing and escalating incidents in accordance with Service Level Agreements in conjunction with Trust support staff and third party support organisations.
- To demonstrate best practice in Service Desk operations..
- To prepare and actively participate in Trust’s annual Performance Development Review process and progress reviews.
- To undertake self-development in the form of a professional qualification e.g. MTA or MCSA certification.
- Ensure training and development needs detailed in your personal development plan are followed up and the effectiveness of the acquired training and development evaluated in terms of self, patient and service.

Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain up to date technical knowledge of major operating systems and applications. Maintain awareness of commercial developments in communications, applications software, hardware and architecture, in order to contribute to ongoing technical improvements.
- To process service requests from user.
- To undertake general administration duties
- Develop an understanding of the Trust’s IT applications in order to be able to advise users on any problems encountered, including understanding the functions of the communications 2 infrastructure used by the Trust
- Maintain up to date working knowledge of Trust Procurement processes and SFIs.
- IT purchasing providing specialist advice to Trust staff on IT equipment and processing IT
- Purchase requests on behalf of all Directorates.
