Service Desk Agent – 12m Fix Term Contract (FTC)

Royal Greenwich is proud to be a borough synonymous with first class modern services. A world heritage site, our communities are vibrant and diverse, and we pride ourselves on being a well-managed and well-run authority.

We have also recently published our first digital strategy. To make that strategy into a reality, we need to hire a new digital, data and technology team to join our existing skill set.

As a key customer-facing role, our approach to Service Desk support is one driven by great customer service – you are our front door to the rest of the organisation. By supporting staff in their use of technology, you will help keep the organisation online, allowing us to deliver important services to our residents. Our digital strategy demonstrates the need for a modern support function which is always data and user-focused, and you will play a key role in making this a reality.

As the first point of contact for Service Desk customers, you will provide expertise to users of varying abilities, presenting problems ranging from the common to the complex. You will take a positive approach to helping people, escalating where appropriate. As a team dedicated to customer satisfaction, your collaborative behaviour and pragmatic approach will be vital to the success of your colleagues throughout the organisation.

This is a great role in a vibrant and growing team. In return, we offer a range of benefits which include:

  • Long Service Awards
  • Generous Annual Leave entitlement and
  • Excellent Pension Scheme
  • GreenwichCard which entitles you to discounts at local businesses
  • Employee Assistance Scheme including external counselling service
  • A range of flexible working arrangements
  • Staff networks

This is a hybrid role, a mixture of both working from home (WFH) and in the office. Current arrangements are that a minimum of 40% of your time will be spent in the office however we need to remain flexible depending on the demands of the role

Please note this position is for a 12 month fix term contract
