Job description
We're looking for a Front of House Legend to join our fun loving team. The role will alternate between the bar and floor so versatility is a must. This will be during normal food service hours and also some late nights (if you are able) when we run live music gigs.
We need someone positive, fun and good with the banter with customers. Our reputation is everything and The Post Inn is famous for its warm, welcoming and fun atmosphere. Our tripadvisor rating is excellent and we have achieved this through our great food and top notch customer engagement (But, don't worry, our excellent chef handles the former)
You must be hard working. We have relatively short but intense shift patterns, serving food between 12pm and 3pm and again from 6pm-9pm. In those times you will need to be fast at taking orders, preparing drinks, giving recommendations, serving food, checking on customers, taking payment and wiping/relaying tables for the next customers - all whilst having a laugh and maintaining a fun and relaxed vibe!
There is room for progression for the right person. Bar supervisor roles and even management roles could be available for those who prove themselves as a valuable addition to the team.
Key traits are strong communication skills, friendly interpersonal style, a strong sense of initiative and proactivity in carrying out necessary tasks without being asked and ability to keep cool and collected when hit with a wave of customers.
Ultimately we want someone who enjoys the job, the versitility, the banter and the excitement of a fast paced and busy workplace. We want someone who can thrive when working independetly and as part of a team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to help make this the most legendary pub in the country (if not, the world), a pub already renowned for it's customer satisfaction and spirit.
We are a small, young and passionate team of misfits and look forward to meeting you if you like the sound of being involved (preference will undoubetly go to any music types who want to join in on a late-night lock-in jam session although this is not mandatory)
We are a 20 minutes drive from Exeter or 15 minutes from Okehampton so if you are communting it is preferable if you drive as transport links are not great.
You'll get 50% on food at the pub, drinks discounts, a free bevvy after your shift, a share of tips and an absolute legend for a boss (he didn't write this).
We look forward to hearing from you.
