We require a dedicated, experienced, and resourcefulSenior Youth Workerwith a passion for supporting young people aged 14-25 years withlong term health conditions(for example Diabetes, Epilepsy, Asthma). You will ensure the young person is at the heart of the support you deliver whilst practicing in line with the national curriculum for youth work. You will help drive forward service developments and have demonstrable leadership experience. The roles will be fast paced. It is essential that the successful candidate can work well under pressure, always maintaining a pleasant and professional attitude. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to liaise with a wide variety of people. You will be flexible in approach, tenacious, resilient, and a good team player. You will work closely with young people, their families/carers, supportingclinical teamsin Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust and where required supporting your Youth Worker colleagues across the other Black Country Acute Trusts. To work as an MDT member to provide and lead a wide range of appropriate educational and recreational activities to enable young people aged 14-25 years living withlong term health conditionsto develop cognitive, social and emotional skills and to promote their engagement with their speciality team therefore improving health outcomes. As a Senior Youth Worker, you will have an integral part in leading on the development of the Youth Worker service, supporting the new band 5 Youth Worker roles across the Black Country Acute Trusts, facilitating peer supervision and ensuring they are appropriately supported. You will directly line manage the Youth Worker/s within Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. You will support the Line Managers for youth workers in the other Black Country Trusts where required. This hugely rewarding role involves a combination of 1:1 engagement and peer support group work with young people. You will have proven ability to safeguard young people and work effectively in a multi professional setting. Interviews will include a formal panel and a task/activity with young people.
