The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
- Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
- Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
- Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
- Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
- Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
- Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications in a functional programming language
- Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
- Experience Developing robust, scalable, and maintainable applications applying Object Oriented Design principles.
- Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
- Experience with Agile software development processes with a strong emphasis on test driven development.
- Knowledge of Commodities products and trade lifecycle would be highly advantageous
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in a similar role

Team/Function Overview
Commodities Operations and Technology is a part for the Global Macro technology organization within Citigroup. The Exotics Trade Lifecycle technology team is located across locations with a primary focus in Singapore, London and Pune. This role is for a hands-on experienced software developer for Exotics Trade Lifecycle technology team. The role is based in London and requires strong technical expertise to be able to re-engineer the existing platform. The role also includes relationship management with the traders and operations, and with other development and support teams to ensure that we are all delivering a quality solution in line with the overall business and technology strategy.
Role / Position Overview
This is an ideal opportunity to work with an ambitious business and technology team to reinvigorate and revitalise a well-liked but aging application to bring significant business benefit.
- The successful candidate will need to own end-to-end deliveries involving all aspects of the development lifecycle, gathering requirements, designing, implementing, testing and L3.
- Work effectively with the immediate and wider team and stakeholders.
- Proactively provide ideas and solutions to problems and drive delivery to completion.
Key Requirements:
The successful candidate will:
- Be a hands on developer of core systems that are in java, HTML5 and java script and will be hosted on Linux/cloud.
- Be able to drive the migration of a 3-tier application into cutting edge technology for the development tool chain and deployment of the solution to cloud native.
- Be a subject matter expert with a track record in the derivatives and structured products business, including pricing, trade booking and associated trade lifecycle events.
- Ensure transparency of project deliveries to all stakeholders.
- Partner/collaborate with Production Support team to improve stability and scalability of systems and providing tools that help users.

Criteria/Qualifications
Knowledge/Experience:
- Strong experience in Java and good knowledge of development with Oracle
- Global Financial Markets exposure, strong knowledge of the exotics business (ideally bot not essentially based on previous experience with commodities)
- Extensive experience in developing, defining and delivering pricing and trade lifecycle systems
- Good communication skills. Ability to manage business stakeholders and ensure project transparency.
- Track record of modern development practices: test-driven development, continuous integration, adoption of build and deploy tools.

Qualifications:
