Help us shape the future of banking and insurance for Tesco Customers
Our mission is to help Tesco Shoppers manage their money a little better every day through propositions, services and experiences that are uniquely Tesco.
We believe that to make meaningful change for our customers, to help them a little better everyday, you must be inspired by a deep understanding of the people you serve. Putting them at the centre of the design process, shaping the intent for change around their needs and crafting every detail of the experience to realise that intent.
We’re a thriving Design Practice, made up of designers from diverse backgrounds and experiences and all driven by a passion for the craft of design. Over the last 5 years we’ve grown in strategic importance within Tesco Bank by showcasing the ability of Human Centred Design to create innovative solutions based on a deep understanding of people.
We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Senior User Experience Designer. Help us shape the future of banking and insurance, crafting unique experiences that truly reflect Tesco values and make a real difference in the day to day lives of people across the UK.
You will:
- Take responsibility as part of a project or product team for the success and delivery of experiences, providing design skills, knowledge and expertise to facilitate effective design processes.
- Use customer research and a detailed understanding of desirable business outcomes to define experience strategies and craft experiences that create meaningful customer outcomes.
- Work across the project lifecycle and design process, starting with research to shape intent, right up to the delivery of detailed and accessible user interface designs.
- Manage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders from across the business.
- Be an active member of the Design Practice, helping others to grow and nurture a supportive, inclusive culture.
Your key skills and experience:
- Experience conducting design research, from creating research plans to running moderated interviews, analysis and synthesis.
- Creating experience strategies based on customer and business needs.
- Solid background working hands-on to design experiences and interfaces for the web and mobile, with a deep understanding of the constraints and opportunities of different platforms.
- Contributing to a design system, drawing on appropriate design standards with knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design.
- Communicating, influencing and negotiating with a range of stakeholders to create support and excitement for design proposals; whilst using judgement to make pragmatic compromises that don’t compromise customer outcomes.
- Practical experience planning, managing and delivering design projects end-to-end.
Help us to expand the diverse experience in the team by also bringing special expertise in at least one of these areas:
Knowledge of the interface design guidelines and native patterns for both iOS and Android platforms and practical experience applying them to solve problems
Planning and running effective research, analysis and synthesis to directly inform experience strategies and evaluate designs
Creating and maintaining effective design systems
Prototyping using various tools, techniques or code
Behavioural psychology
UX copywriting
Interaction design
User interface design
You’ll get back from us:
All the support you need to be at your best and develop
Challenging projects that you’ll be proud of for the rest of your career
Flexibility about where you work, with most of your time working from home and the option to use Design Studios in Edinburgh and Glasgow if you want to.
Interested? We’re ready and excited to meet you.
