Title: Data Science Apprentice
Location: Leeds Bradford International Airport, ability to WFH ad-hoc
Contract: Full Time, 37 hours per week
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am – 5pm, Friday 9am – 4.30pm
Salary: £22,000
We have an exciting vacancy in the Resource Planning & BI team at Leeds Bradford Airport as Data Science Apprentice.
Working within the Resource Planning & BI Team, you will be responsible for organising various data streams at LBA and producing meaningful analysis and insight using all available data.
You’ll be utilising mathematical models, metrics and large data sources within your role whilst helping to drive a large Business Intelligence initiative. Your role will be a driver of the Business Intelligence strategy at Leeds Bradford Airport, ensuring the data processes meet high standards in data management and presentation.
To assist in your Data Science journey, Leeds Bradford Airport will fully fund a Data Science Apprenticeship (Level 6) BSc Degree, helping you obtain key skills and experience relevant to your employment. Upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship course, you will receive a full Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Data Science degree.
We encourage applications with all experiences to apply, however the minimum requirement for the apprenticeship is 104 UCAS points and GCSE mathematics and English (grade C or above).
What you will be doing
At least 1 day a week (or equivalent) spent on Academic Learning (Data Science Apprenticeship Level 6 BSc)
- Support in driving the business intelligence strategy, gathering data & reporting requirements from around the business
- Organising large data sets in to clean and actionable data
- Leading on the implementation and development of our Business Intelligence tool (Qlik BI) across the business
- Produce daily, weekly & monthly reports for various levels of stakeholders around the business
- Assist the Resource Planning Team by producing accurate data for Demand Forecasting
- Reviewing Airport KPIs and Performance, whilst producing relevant and actionable insight
About You
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), advanced excel skills desired
- Confident with numerical concepts
- Logical mindset, apt to finding solutions
- Excellent time management
- Good standard of presentation skills
- Strong customer focus, who is a proactive self-starter with a forward-thinking approach to driving insight and change
