Senior Trading Exec (up to £45,000 plus commission)

About the role

Representing some of the UK’s best-loved editorial brands, known for their award-winning content and highly engaged audiences, you’ll be selling an exciting range of products including digital and print display, programmatic, social and audio, but also small-scale partnerships, advertorials and native content.

Working in the Agency Team, you’ll play a central role in Immediate’s advertising function, representing all revenue streams and being a vocal champion of our brands and platforms with media agencies, with which you’ll build deep, meaningful relationships. As a Senior Trading Exec, you will;


  • manage and be the main conduit for an agency network(s) and additional ‘smaller/indy’ agencies
  • proactively sell the complete Immediate proposition to agencies and clients at every opportunity
  • effectively manage your agency portfolio through a fully integrated strategy that is developed, cultivated, and delivered by you with real KPIs – updated on a quarterly basis
  • develop deep and strategic relationships with your agencies across all levels and departments including strategic planning, planning, buying and where appropriate directly with clients as well
  • focus on growing direct revenues by identifying appropriate advertisers to migrate from OMP and look to increase yields
  • work with your managers and Commercial Data team to define our Audience sales proposition
  • execute our Audience go-to-market strategy across all sales channels
  • become an expert on the changing programmatic demand landscape, including providing intelligence on our competitive set and market trends
  • have full knowledge of previous, current, and future activity for each agency
  • have specific, measurable performance improvement targets/goals for new, existing, and lapsed advertisers as agreed with your manager
  • ensure that all competitor leads are always followed up
  • attend a minimum of six meetings per week

Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of digital advertising sales. Ideally including an understanding of emerging ad technologies and market trends.
  • Ability to cross sell multiple media channels and titles
  • Able to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to deliver against stretching financial targets.
  • Strong sales skills with evidence of being able to work at both a conceptual level (e.g selling in a publisher proposition) and closing deals on a day to day basis.
  • Strong influencing skills, being able to gain traction within the organisation and work with the existing sales structure to grow emerging revenue lines.
  • Team player – able to develop strong relationships within the Commercial team to help achieve overall strategic objectives
  • Evidence of the ability to think strategically, of being able to plan and execute an effective go to market strategy and of putting in place the processes to support this.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-changing environment
