Here at Stratstone, powered by Pendragon, we’re excited to be embarking on a new and innovative partnership. We’re looking for a passionate Senior Technician to play a key part in shaping our future, as we move forwards with one of the most exciting automotive brands to ever hit the UK market.
BYD (Build Your Dreams) is a pioneer in new automotive technology. Having been first established in China in 1995, the brand has since trailblazed the way forwards for electric vehicle technology. Their revolutionary innovations include their Blade Battery and exclusive E-Platform 3.0 interface, both of which have helped their vehicles to achieve five-star Euro NCAP safety ratings, thanks to unrivalled intuitive systems. 2023 sees the launch of this incredible brand in the UK, and we’re looking for a collaborative and driven individual to help drive the new Stratstone and BYD partnership forwards.
As Senior Technician, you’ll be integral to the workshop team in one of the first ever BYD UK stores, maintaining this game changing NEV (New Energy Vehicle) brand for our customers. You’ll be working for an experienced leader, working with the most cutting edge of electric vehicle equipment and technology. What you’ll be responsible for in your technical role:
- Becoming an expert on BYD vehicles, undertaking specialised training to successfully diagnose, maintain and repair the latest in electric vehicle technology
- Driving the Stratstone and BYD partnership forwards, becoming a trailblazer for the latest in electric automotive technology and taking the brand to the next level
- Leading the way in mentoring apprentices and less experienced technicians to be the best they can be, supporting them to develop their knowledge and skills
- Utilising existing technical knowledge to carry out services, repairs and maintenance on customer vehicles, including minor and major mechanical and electrical work
- Exhibiting a passion for our customers, meeting with them to discuss the vehicle and repairs needed when necessary in an accountable and honest manner
- Using advanced diagnostic equipment to fault find items relevant to the vehicle
- Completing Vehicle Health Checks (VHC), ensuring that the VHC video completion meets targets and exceeds all KPIs

- Brimming with technical knowledge to confidently and safely carry out repairs and maintenance of customer vehicles
- Capable of using systems and equipment within our workshop
- Experienced in working to the highest quality standards within a franchised dealer or independent garage, to productivity targets
- Qualified by experience in post or to NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Equipped with a full UK driving licence
