The London Borough of Redbridge Neighbourhood Street Scene team require a Street Cleansing Senior Team Leader – Redbridge has ambitious plans for the future for the Street Cleansing services, and we are looking for an individual who can hit the ground running and who can help us deliver our ambitious plans for service excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the Street Cleansing service and will be expected to work in collaboration with the Neighbourhood managers and Senior team leader to support borough wide working.
About the role
You will manage the work of the Street Cleansing, Graffiti and associated services staff and co-ordinate this with the work of our Enforcement and Engagement teams in the London Borough of Redbridge. You will also be involved in the winter maintenance programme for the Borough including decision making, service planning and service delivery.
Leading the Street cleansing teams this role offers the opportunity to develop the service further whilst being responsible and accountable for the general management of the street cleansing service.
The role is responsible for ensuring the effective performance management and support of staff, you will make a vital contribution to improving the quality in delivery of the Street Cleansing and associated Services in the Borough.
The management of health and safety is a key responsibility of the role to ensure that the Council complies fully with its legal duty in relation to health and safety, its Operators’ License and Technical Competence requirements.
You will also work in collaboration with our environmental quality and enforcement team to resolve “hot spots” for environmental crime.
You will have excellent leadership and motivational and communication skills, budget management experience, and the ability to prepare a long-term strategy for street cleansing services. You will have outstanding knowledge and demonstrable experience in managing a street cleansing service, including the development and delivery of projects. We are looking for an individual with initiative, evidence of experience in managing a street cleansing service and motivating diverse teams, good customer care skills and who are excellent at problem solving and able to make decisions under pressure.
Essentials
- Experience of operational service management in a multi-functional organisation for Street Cleansing.
- Full UK Driving license
This is a full time, permanent position.
