JOB TITLE: Senior Supervisor
REPORTING TO: Operations Manager
LOCATION: J P Morgan - 60 Victoria Embankment
HOURS: 45 hours per week
PAY RATE: £12.88 PER HOUR
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for all day-to-day aspects relating to the management and maintenance of the Cleaning and
Porterage services and schedules within allocated Sites. It is essential that the Senior Supervisor has full working knowledge of the areas covered within the building specification.
Monitor Cleaning and Porterage Operatives’ attendance and confirm that they are checking in & out
/signing in & out correctly. Making sure that all time sheets are always completed accurately and signed off by Supervisor.
Provide sufficient cover and allocate Cleaning and Porterage tasks during periods of staff absence or holidays.
Communicate any staffing issues immediately to the Line Manager. Report to the Operations Manager any discrepancies related to the signing sheets.
To hold company phone (where applicable) and respond to all requests within a reasonable time frame time as required. Also ensure that all job requests/tickets raised for the buildings are dealt within the set time periods, and report all the works when completed to the Line Manager to be signed off.
Ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance and general cleanliness to comply with statutory and Company regulations, wearing company uniform as specified.
Ensure a reporting system is in place for notifying building and furniture defects to the Facilities Manager.
Main Duties:
- Day to day liaison with the service area line Manager on a range of service delivery matters.
- Under the direction of the line Manager, co-ordinate the response to any unforeseen incident or problem including staff absenteeism.
- Complete building inductions & training for all MSO’S, updating ILP’s as required and formally reviewing these on an annual basis.
- Completing Toolbox Talks for all MSO’s, as directed by the line manager, collect signed attendance sheets upon completion.
- Complete innovate & G2 audits within allocated building group.
- Take responsibility for making all cleaning MSO’s aware of and that they are familiar with the correct use of all equipment and materials. Responsible for control and distribution of cleaning material ensuring stock rotation and safety in storage. Report any shortages of consumables or materials in a timely manner to the line Manager. When necessary, trial new machinery and chemicals and provide written and verbal feedback to the Line Manager and members of senior management team.
- Daily checks of cleaning store rooms & equipment and completion of the equipment check sheet Q45 on a weekly basis. Any faults found should be reported immediately to the Group Manager and an “out of service” label completed and attached to the faulty equipment.
- Experience and knowledge of dilution of chemicals and ability to demonstrate clear understanding of
- Carry out other reasonable requests from customer and or / line manager as and when required.
- Ensure adequate quality performance (KPI’s / SLA’s) measures are adhered to and any non-compliance is resolved in a professional manner.
- Ensure on site supervisors manage their teams ensuring they are fully conversant with their individual tasks.
- Ensure staff wages are correct and accurate using the Timesheet Portal
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Ability to communicate at all levels, with good written and spoken English.
- Strong customer care and leadership skills
- Must be a good leader, motivating and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Good IT skills essential
- Ability to work to set schedules and on own initiative.
- Flexible and proactive attitude essential.
- Understanding and knowledge of health and safety policies.
- Needs to represent ABM values on site by being presentable, uniformed and helpful at all times. Willing to go the extra mile.
- Experience of co-ordinating a range of tasks and individuals.
- Always follow Group & Company policies and procedures
- Confirm that Cleaning Operatives, Porters or cover workers for whom they are responsible receive suitable induction training and information about emergency procedures
- Ensure the necessary risk assessments have been done and the safety provisions relating to the work discussed with those doing it
- Confirm that those under their supervision have received training appropriate to their needs and that safety considerations are integrated into this training
- Document the training given to Cleaning Operatives
- Ensure that the work environment and equipment are safe and well maintained
- Identify and correct hazardous conditions
- Investigate accidents or incidents and revise risk assessments where necessary
- Monitor compliance with risk assessments, enforce the control measures and stop anyone who fails to comply
- Ensure the correct disposal of waste (abiding by ABM’s Site Specific Waste Management Plan)
