JOB TITLE: Senior Safety Advisor

The successful candidate for the above role will retain their current employer, i.e. if you are a Jaguar employee you will continue to be administered on the Jaguar grading structure with the associated terms and conditions. If you are currently on BAC or EMC terms, you will retain your current employer but will transfer to a Jaguar Landrover contract and the associated terms and conditions.
As the Senior Safety Advisor your role will involve advising and assisting the business on the transformation of current facilities and equipment at Halewood, as well as those in respect to future growth and expansion. You will have at the core of your skills portfolio, the ability to offer pragmatic and balanced advice and proactively apply those skills to support relevant stakeholders within these facilities and installations, at all levels. You will require a proven background in machinery safety / facilities management and have a good understanding on how, influencing the early stages of a project in terms of designing in safety, can yield longer term benefits with regards to future safety performance and improved profitability / operating cost reduction.
What To Expect
The requirements of this position are varied but will essentially involve advising and assisting the business on the safety aspects of infrastructure, facilities and equipment changes and upgrades, guiding the business through their responsibilities by working with key stakeholders to deliver these key project elements. You will have at the core of your skills portfolio the ability to offer pragmatic and balanced advice and proactively apply those skills to support all the responsible parties involved in the delivery of facilities and installations, and at all levels. The role will act as a key team member for Design for Safety function and will be critical in ensuring our plant and facilities incorporate the best in safe design.

Skills- Excellent communciation skills – both spoken and written (E)
- Ability to pragmaticailly apply knowledge
- Commercially astute – used to working in a business environment (E)
- Able to negotiatie and influence at all levels of organisation (E)
- Strong ability to organise self, and prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines (E)
- A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Excel, Word and Power Point (E)
- Strong knowledge relating to new equipment procurement (E)
- Maintaining of technical knowledge to ensure technical competence is current - Technical knowledge of current and upcoming HSE guidance, best practices and industry developments and trends (E)
Experience- Demonstrable expirience of working within CDM type environments (E)
- Extensive machinery safety knowledge(E)
- Experience of safety support on large engineering projects (D)
- Good working knowledge of supply of machinery regulations and conformity assessment process (E)
- Experience within automotive environment (D)
- Experience within a unionised environment (D)
Qualifications- Level 6 Safety qualification e.g. NEBOSH Diploma (E)
- Strong engineering background (D)
- A full driving license (E)
