AXBIO Inc. is a Silicon Valley startup company developing semiconductor nanotechnology biochips for fast Molecular In-Vitro Diagnostics. Company is well funded and founded by seasonal business and technology experts with broad experience in biotechnology, bioinformatics, IC device development and high-volume semiconductor manufacturing. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic Senior R&D engineer to join our team.

Job Responsibilities of R&D Engineer

· Develop semiconductor based biosensing instruments

· Design electrochemical experiments

· Identify performance parameters

· Perform hands on experiments to create process flow

· Optimize instrument performance

· Maintain the hardware, oversee modifications as needed

· Collaborate with Biomedical, Electrical engineers, Biologists, Data Scientists and Software Engineers

Senior R&D Engineer Must Have Qualifications

· The senior R&D Engineer must experience in performing biological and/or chemical experiments

· Able to generate and interpret data

· Experience in semiconductor technologies

· The R&D engineer must has working knowledge/experience in surface chemistry

Senior R&D Engineer Qualifications/Skills Preferred

· The senior R&D engineer should have at least a B.S. in chemical, materials engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in prototype testing and workflow development or a M.S. and higher with 3+ years of experience

· The R&D engineer should experience with design of experiment and process development in an industrial setting

· The R&D engineer has hands on experience with handling biological and/or chemical substances

· The R&D engineer has expertise in microfluidics and fluidic platforms related to biological sensing

· We highly prefer the R&D engineer has participation in developing genome sequencing equipment.

· Working knowledge of statistical software packages, such as: JMP, Minitab, SPSS

· Ability to keep detailed documentation of experiments and operating procedures

· Ability to communicate technical complex ideas to a multi-disciplinary team

· Strong organization skills, and ability to thrive in a cross-functional, fast-paced start-up environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
