An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Talking Therapies Barking and Dagenham Improving Access to Psychological Service for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join the senior management team

This post seeks qualified, skilled and experienced IAPT PWPs who are enthusiastic and excited by the development of IAPT services, the progression of low intensity interventions and the prospect of helping colleagues develop innovative practice through training.

The post holder will hold an accredited Post Graduate Certificate, Diploma or accredited Top-Up Certificate in Low Intensity CBT based interventions.

The post holder will provide case management, clinical supervision and line management to Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) and Qualified PWPs under the direction of the Barking & Dagenham PWP Team Lead & Service Lead.

Besides offering clinical, case, clinical skills and line management supervision to trainee and Qualified PWPs, you will also offer evidence-based self-help interventions to individuals and groups through telephone, face-to-face (including video) and computerised based programmes. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and may be called upon to work in various community settings.

A key role of the Senior PWP will be to initiate, monitor and co-ordinate the service's outreach initiatives. Additionally, the post holder will be expected to engage stakeholders and attend Special Interest Groups to support the service in developing strategies to increase access for the treatment of common mental health problems and also access in hard to reach groups.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement – London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,108 and a maximum payment of £5,177 per annum pro rata).

In line with our trust values, we are a team that values and encourages continual improvement. As such, we have regular training from CBT clinicians in addition to regular clinical skills supervision; Reflective spaces for discussions around race; and Special Interest Groups such as the LGBTQ+, perinatal, and Older Adults groups. The focus of these groups is to increase accessibility of the service for these demographics. We also have links with the NELFT research department allowing clinicians to be involved with ongoing projects in the trust.

Valuing wellbeing, the service has an active wellbeing initiative. Engagement with this is in encouraged through regular updates and promotion of staff wellbeing events in the trust.
