Job Title: Senior Phlebotomist
Location: The Portland Hospital for Women and Children
Hours: Permanent/Full Time – This service operates Monday-Saturday and you will be required to cover a range of shifts during this period. You may also be required to cover other HCA facilities.

About the role:
We are looking for a professional Phlebotomist with at least two years of continuous experience and expertise in paediatric and neonatal phlebotomy. By taking on the Senior Phlebotomist role at the Portland Hospital, you will become a valued member of our amazing multicultural outpatients’ team and, together with other members of our phlebotomy team, will be in charge of providing high-quality care whilst performing blood tests on patients of all ages (from new-born to elderly).
Skills & Experience:
- Certification for Venepuncture training and competency (both adult and paediatric)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in paediatric and neonatal phlebotomy
- Has sufficient clinical knowledge and evidence-based practice to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the post
- Excellent communication skills
- In-depth understanding of safeguarding principles (children and vulnerable adults)
- Ability to demonstrate effective team working as a component of efficient case management to ensure optimum service provision for patients and consultants.
- Ability to work independently and without direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to use work-based Technology Systems
