Job description
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Pharmacy Patient Services team at King’s College Hospital as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant.
The post holder will assist the dispensary team in the delivery of the day to day activities in the dispensary. They will carry out duties in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. The post holder is primarily responsible for dispensing discharge, inpatient medication, and outpatient medication as well as controlled drugs to wards and clinical areas across the hospital.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic pharmacy assistant looking to progress their career. They will assist the pharmacy team in the delivery of a safe and effective pharmacy service covering outpatient, inpatient, discharge and clinical trials dispensing.
- Assist the Pharmacy Team in the delivery of safe, effective and economical use of drugs for all patients in the Trust
- To be able to dispense inpatient, discharge, outpatient and clinical trial medication accurately.
- To support the Dispensary Manager by contributing to the development of the Dispensary Services
- To be able to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- To be able to participate in and contribute to departmental meetings
- To be able to assist in the training of new members of staff rotating into the dispensary
- To be able to participate in a 7 day operational model including working weekends and late shifts.
