Job description
Are you passionate about marketing? Can you write engaging content and website copy? Do you want to use your creative skills to make the world a better place?
Garrett Creative is an independent brand and content agency based at the Future Leap in Bristol, the UK’s first carbon neutral business hub. We are on a mission to use our design and language as a force for good; we partner with purpose-led businesses and charities to support a range of creative activity across brand strategy and design, website and UX design, content marketing and production.
We are looking for an experienced, hard-working, and forward-thinking individual to join our international team of creative thinkers, designers, writers and illustrators. Our ‘Design for Good’ ethos is at the core of everything that we do, so it is essential that you have a genuine interest in good causes including sustainability, social impact projects and the not-for-profit sector.
You will be joining us at an exciting stage of growth and support our journey towards B-Corp accreditation. Our clients include a range of start-ups, scale-ups, and non-profits – we focus on organisations that are working tirelessly towards positive social and environmental change. For example, our work covers specialisms including green tech, sustainable consultancy, renewable energy, water aid, community support, social care and the NHS.
About you / the role:
We are looking for an experienced marketing professional and content writer with a keen eye for detail who can hit the ground running from day one. You will need a strong understanding of modern marketing principles and storytelling for brands. Strong communication skills and research skills are essential and you will have an excellent grasp of the English language, with previous experience of writing marketing content for B2B, B2C and non-profit organisations.
Your day-to-day activity will be split between working on marketing activity, content writing for our studio and working directly with our clients to deliver a range of strategic marketing projects. Work will include campaign creation and management, building brand visibility and authority, content writing for blogs, social media and websites, brand messaging and tone of voice. You will attend regular networking events and work with our agency partners in SEO and paid media, whilst also assisting the design team with research projects, campaign reporting, and other ad-hoc tasks associated with the wider creative industry.
Person specification (essential):
- At least 2-3 years professional experience in a marketing role (either agency or in-house)
- At least 1-2 years professional experience of copywriting for B2B and B2C brands
- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification/experience) in Marketing and/or English Language

- A passion for language and the ability to generate engaging and professional copy
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills (internal and external)
- Experience across the Adobe Creative suite, ideally in a professional environment
- Able to work under pressure to meet targets and deadlines
- Good computer skills with an understanding of word processors and spread sheets (Microsoft/Google)
Person specification (desirable):
- Marketing accreditations and/or awards
- Knowledge/experience of SEO and paid media
- Advanced knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
- Knowledge/experience of photography and video production
Personal attributes:
- Driven, focused, self-motivated and ambitious
- A positive ‘can-do’ attitude and strong work ethic
- An interest in sustainability, charitable work and social impact projects
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a diverse project delivery team
- The ability to work independently and under your own initiative
- The desire to learn and develop your marketing/writing/technical skills
Salary and benefits:
- Competitive salary and standard pension contributions
- 20 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday
- Optional 4-day week*
- Annual profit share bonus up to 10% of your salary*
- 10 hrs per month self-directed learning*
- Access to training materials tailored around your career development goals
- 1-2-1 mentoring with our experienced team and external partners
