NewLaw commercial law team provides in-depth knowledge and expertise across all aspects of commercial law and a wide range of projects, bringing scale and capability through its access to the PwC network and key PwC service delivery centres across Northern Ireland, Tampa, India and Poland. The 5 key offerings of the team are General Commercial Contracts (including Legal Technology and Legal Technology and Managed Legal Services), Contract Optimisation, Contract Review and Remediation, Outsourcing transactions and Technology agreements. Our clients include numerous household names, MNCs and listed groups as well as privately owned companies across a range of sectors. The work we undertake is often high profile and cross-border in nature and can involve other legal teams in the PwC international network. Our teams often work with Consulting, Deals, Tax and other professionals from within PwC to deliver a comprehensive and integrated service to our clients.

- Ability to lead functional aspects of large CLM implementations
- Ability to manage the project management aspect of large CLM implementations
- Lead the end to end proposal response mechanism right from responding to RFIs and RFPs to preparation and presentation of final decks and corresponding demonstrations.

- Ability to familiarise oneself with the inner workings of the PwC systems and processes (JBR, EL review & execution etc.)
- Reviewing, assessing, and drafting IT, outsourcing and general commercial agreements;
- Advice on IT, e-commerce, outsourcing and general commercial laws;
- Supporting clients in the negotiation of a range of transactions and developing/maintaining contract negotiation playbooks for clients;
- Supporting clients to leverage technology enabled workflows to support contract preparation, negotiation and execution;
- Business development, including over time building a network of referrers as developing direct client relationships.

The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate the following:

- a keen ability to learn in a fast moving, innovative and technology enabled environment and a desire to be part of the movement to modernise the in-house delivery of legal services and advance the New Law Services practice.
Knowledge of or previous experience in the Legal Technology and Legal Technology and Managed Legal Services industry or of working as an in-house legal counsel would be advantageous and looked on favourably, as will previous experience of working with LegalTech. The successful candidate will be working with lawyers across the other UK offices and will be occasionally required to travel between the offices.
Alliance Partnerships:
- Negotiate, implement, and manage partnerships with core legal technology providers to drive significant incremental revenue.
- Build a business case to support and design the structure of partnerships.
Day-to-day:
- Navigate partner organizations to identify champions and build scalable operational processes.
- Work closely with key executive stakeholders to develop a business case and strategic rationale for the partnerships.
- Must thrive in working with multidisciplinary teams, including but not limited to product, technology, legal, sales, and marketing.
- Ability to negotiate complex commercial agreements.
- Clear written and verbal communication - including presenting to executives - is essential.
- Must be able to lead teams that do not report to you.
- Excited to challenge, be challenged, and work as a team to run with the best idea.
- Understanding of traditional financial market infrastructures.
- Must have a bias for action and a strong ability to execute.
- This role will begin as an individual contributor.
Requirements:
- Education: Undergraduate degree required. Advanced degree preferred - MBA, JD, or Masters in another relevant field.
- Professional:
- 5-8 years of experience in partnerships, management consulting, corporate development, strategic investing, strategic sales, channel partnerships, or product management.
- Background in legal and financial services.
- Experience negotiating, implementing, and/or managing profitable partnerships.
- International experience is a plus.
- Limited travel expected.
