30hrs – Keith Axton Centre
20hrs – Woodford Green Library and Gym
7hrs – Central Library (Sat & Sun) – This is a temporary contract until October 2023.

Salary: £21,858 (pro rata) per annum
(From 1 October 2023 increasing to £24,294 per annum (pro rata) £11.95 per hour
We are looking for highly motivated, organised, and enthusiastic people to join us as Senior Leisure & Library Assistants to work across various libraries and leisure sites based in the London Borough of Redbridge. Sitting at the heart of each community, our libraries offer a range of services such as borrowing books, ebooks, DVDs, audiobooks, free computers, internet, printing as well as support with any enquiries. Each location has spaces for member of the public to sit and work as well as a large range of clubs, events and activities for all ages held throughout the year.
The role of the senior Leisure and Library assistant is crucial to support the customers using our services. The successful candidates will require excellent communication skills and take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the facility, delivering customer service excellence and supporting the Centre Manager. You will also be excellent ambassadors, promoting and encouraging the use of our services.
The successful candidate should have a general interest in this field and experience of working in a customer service environment.
Essential requirements:
- Experience of working within a customer service environment.
- These posts will involve lone working, early morning, evening, weekend and bank holiday working.
