The IBM Z software Deployment manager leads the team which provides IBM Z software services solutions and is responsible for the Z Software deployment services business worldwide.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Leads a network of Business Partners and a Z Software deployment team which provides competitive IBM Z migration services.
The role is responsible for developing, maintaining & managing a cross-country/cross-geo Business Partner (Vendor) services team & IBM consultants with direct responsibilities for coordinating, developing, deploying, and delivering Enterprise Migrations/Solutions based on the IBM Z software portfolio.
The services include technical solutions, resources, training, and other services the customer requires. The manager is also responsible for forecasting service delivery needs, load balancing, skills demand and adjusting to meet WW client service needs.
Candidate must have a thorough understanding of the customer's business, goals, strategies, and industry trends and directions. They will coordinate and contribute to efforts of large, multi-disciplinary teams, working to integrate products and services required to meet the customer's needs. The role is accountable for business results including meeting client satisfaction, supporting sales activities, productivity, financial, and other business measurements.
Overall as a manager, the manager will be expected to:
- Lead by example in all activities. Support change, encourage employees to innovate, evaluate suggestions, and remove obstacles to implementation.

- Advise and coach employees to help them develop their skills and capabilities to best meet their career desires and current or future business needs.
- Execute processes for the normal operation of employee programs. Analyze and interpret new situations. Resolve complex problems independently or through the management of others.
As a delivery manager for the expert labs team, the manager will be expected to:
- Support the delivery of IBM z Software solutions at a client by coaching project delivery professionals (IBM and vendor resources) and acting as a point of escalation for IBM clients.
As the manager focused on working with business partners, the manager will also be responsible to:
- Identify and evaluate new business partners by teaming with procurement & product experts.
- Engage with BPs during pre-sales and proposal building by teaming with zSW migration tech sales
- Forecasting skills availability for deployment by teaming with IBM deployment managers and business partner technical SMEs.
- Identify skills gaps in deployment that could be filled by BPs and team with deployment and education teams to build skills of BPs.
- Identify opportunities to use tooling to improve the efficiency of a migration by teaming with the tools team.
- Maintain a data base of Business Partners and their readiness to engage on migrations in country or cross border including any tax implications.
- Negotiate business terms with business partners as needed for specific deals.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Exposure to working in a matrixed environment
- Experience working for an IT company
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience of working in consulting or services
- Familiarity with IBM Z SW products and offerings
- Fluent in German, Spanish, French, or Italian
