Job description
The job itself
This is a fantastic opportunity for a forward thinking HR professional to join our progressive HR team. The Human Resources function plays a leading role in the Council’s strategic development ensuring that employment considerations are fully understood and accounted for with regard to all service development, structural and cultural change.
You will be a credible, positive and proactive HR practitioner with excellent influencing skills and a good track record of making a positive difference. Working with our managers, providing
generalist and specialist HR support, you will demonstrate an understanding of their service and provide them with critical HR interventions to enable them to achieve their objectives.
You should have a relevant professional qualification at degree level and/or demonstrable experience at a comparable level within a related professional field of expertise. You will have demonstrable broad-based experience in a large unionised, multi-faceted organisation of supporting managers at a senior level with restructures, discipline, grievance, harassment, attendance and capability issues. In addition, you must be able to interpret employment legislation, policies and procedures and advise on more complex human resource issues such as potential TUPE transfers and redundancy processes.
In return we can offer you an interesting and rewarding place to work in a supportive and respected HR team. We can offer a discounted leisure centre membership, a staff discount scheme, and potential for flexible working arrangements.
