Job description
We are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join our Joint Venture team based on Hinkley Point C in Somerset. The JV that VSL is part of are involved in the building of the housing of the nuclear reactors.
The Senior HR Advisor will provide an effective and efficient operational human resources service to the delivery team, which will grow to approximately 90 people.
Working with the senior management team of the project you will be responsible for advising, developing, implementing and reviewing all aspects of operational human resource activity in order to achieve the optimum performance of the team. The role will also interact and be supported by the core VSL HR Team.
The Senior HR Advisor will:
Ensure the provision of an efficient human resource service to the region and its staff.
- Provide an effective and efficient advice and support service to managers and employees on HR matters, suggesting appropriate solutions as required.
- Provide advice and information to managers to enable them to meet their responsibilities in areas including:
- Disciplinary and grievance.
- Terms and conditions of employment.
- Employment law
- Ensure compliance with the HR policies and procedures of the company by operational managers.
- Comply with company policies, procedures and social law.
- Responsible for the management of the computerised and manual human resource systems, together with the provision and development of information systems. To ensure that personnel records are complete, accurate, up to date and kept under strict security.
- Implement the company`s appraisal review program and ensure that any issues identified are dealt with accordingly, for example, performance, training and succession planning.
- To encourage and support our employees involvement within the community.
- To act at all times in accordance with the company`s values as an ambassador and advisor to the company and ensure that working relationships with internal and external customers is such that it upholds and enhances the good image of the company.
- Ensure that Contracts of Employment and subsequent amendments are provided accurately and in line with current legislation.
- To provide advice and support as well as administration of the interim and annual review process
- Ensure the Company Health and Safety safe working practices are observed at all times
- Working with and providing a point of focus for the delivery of the recruitment service via the internal recruitment team.
- Working with and providing a point of focus for the delivery of the Learning & Development service via the internal Learning & Development team.
- Support the onboarding of new employees.
