Applications are invited for an individual who wishes to join our multidisciplinary Older People’s Community Mental Health Team based within the South Perthshire Locality.
The team works with people experiencing a wide range of mental health needs. The successful applicant will have experience of working with people within a health or social care setting. Experience within a mental health setting is desirable. The post holder will work in partnership with people to provide a range of interventions aimed at maximising mental health and wellbeing. Applicants must possess good communication skills, be able to work as part of a team and be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with challenging situations.

You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
Hours of work are: 22.5 hours per week X 3 posts available
About us
The South Perthshire Older People’s Community Mental Health Team is a community team consisting of Community Mental Health Nurses, Consultant Psychiatrists, Assistant Practitioner’s, Dementia Link Workers, Community Support Workers and Organisational Support Staff. We also work closely with Occupational Therapy, Clinical Psychology and Social Work.
The service provides support to people aged over 65 with mental health needs living in the South Locality of Perth & Kinross. We also support those aged under 65 who have possible or identified cognitive concerns.
The team provides a range of services including Dementia Assessment, Post Diagnostic Support, Care Home Liaison and Community Hospital Liaison.
We are a team who are committed to personal, professional and service development. We offer an induction programme which is tailored to your needs and ongoing regular clinical supervision including 1-1 and peer supervision sessions. We also offer regular protected Continuing Professional Development Time.
The team is split into two sub localities, with bases in Murray Royal Hospital, Perth and Crieff Community Hospital, Crieff. The post will cover both sub localities with a requirement to travel within the South Locality. Base will be negotiated with the successful applicant. This semi-rural location includes the towns of Crieff, Comrie, Auchterarder and Kinross.
