Detailed job description and main responsibilities

We have a highly skilled, diverse team of staff working in MCC daycare in a very nurse-led environment. You will be able to develop key working relationships with all members of the multi-professional team, including nursing and medical staff, allied health professionals and support workers. We are an extremely professional team that work in a fast-paced, evolving unit with an excellent reputation for our care and services. Alongside the working environment you will have access to social events and staff well-being from the staff who organize team events to access to complementary therapy on the unit.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Clinical Assisstant Practitioner foundation degree
  • NVQ Level 2/3 certificate or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 3 years’ experience as an HCA involved in direct patient care
  • Experience of dealing with the public in person and on the phone
  • Experience in carrying out assigned duties/assisting qualified staff after training
  • Working in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good standard of written and spoken english

Communication

Essential criteria
  • Ability to deal with the public in person and on the phone
  • Able to support and reassure patients/carers in distress

Personal And People Development

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate understanding of own role within the team

Health, Safety And Security

Essential criteria
  • Understands importance of infection control

Essential criteria
  • Able to carry out administrative and clerical duties appropriate to the work area
