Job description
Our client is looking for someone to work closely with the FC, this role will help to ensure that the companies business strategy is implemented and stays on track financially. This will be achieved by providing professional, comprehensive information and analysis to relevant stakeholders (or external parties), developing an extensive understanding of existing business and Finance operations and systems, as well as building strong and trusted relations with colleagues at all levels.
Main Duties:
Internal Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Work with FC and finance team to provide meaningful internal financial information to support business strategy to Directors (Owners)
- Provide Finance-generated management information to key non-finance stakeholders / other areas of the business as appropriate
- Work with FC and Directors on long-term, strategic financial planning
- Develop financial models through benchmarking and process analysis
- Research, analyse and prepare financial business reports including stock movement, valuations, margin and rebate
- Prepare cost projections and profit forecasts
Finance Management
- Recruit. oversee, manage and develop the Assistant Financial Analyst
- Overall management of Credit facilities, E-commerce and customer KYC
- Establish (& gatekeep) financial policies, legislative updates, internal controls, systems and processes (with AFA)
- Ownership of non-UK VAT and EU Intrastat legislation, reporting and submissions
Financial interface to, and compliance expert go to point of contact
- ESCAPE (internal CRM/ERP)
- AMAZON and other ecommerce platforms
- SAGE (Migration/update project)
- Develop accounting systems and internal reporting mechanisms for any new business eg Reverse Logistics, Third Party Logistics (3PL), Buy-back and Trade-In (BBTI)
- Technical Accounting support (processes & internal controls) for Financial Accounting Team
Senior external project support
- Work with FC on senior external projects including liaison with Banks, Insurance Brokers, External Accountants, and Software Solutions Providers
C43 Transition
- Ownership of all aspects including Project Accounting, Reverse Logistics and 3PL
- Overall management and senior point of contact for Insurance Policies
Together with any other tasks deemed necessary to support business needs and / or cover for colleagues
Key Measures: Pro-active ownership to ensure;
- Business Finance: Reporting and analysis is relevant, accurate and on time (or communicated)
- Personal: Strong, supportive relationships with department, customers and colleagues
- Technical: Systems and legal expertise
- Compliance: Internal controls are reviewed/created, refined, implemented and measured
Key Skills:
- Senior financial analysis and reporting experience is essential and experience of Credit Management & Invoice Finance preferable
- Pro-active with excellent organisation and communication skills to fit easily into the small but very busy team
- A hands-on, collaborative people & project manager with experience of building capability & motivating to achieve results (including process design and implementation)
- Solution oriented and commercially aware with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Diligent and reliable to work quietly and consistently to high standards as well as flexibility to change priorities
- Up to date with accounting laws and regulations
- Exceptional IT knowledge and Advanced Excel expertise – Vlookups, Pivot tables, IF statements
- Degree in Finance or Accounting (or equivalent) with minimum 3 years’ relevant experience
Must have as a minimum experience in a commercial internal Finance position
