Job description
TEC Partners are working with a well-established synthetic biology company in Cambridge that are experts in the human cell engineering field. Utilising a patented gene-editing approach, the team are able to efficiently reprogram, produce, and manufacture at scale different types of mature human cells for therapeutics, research, and drug discovery purposes to accelerate innovations in medicine.
They are currently looking for a Scientist to join the R&D department and become part of a collaborative and curious team. The position will be perfectly suitable for a well-organised team player who is willing to become a specialist in their field.
Your responsibilities:
· Generation of specific cell types
· Design, development, and execution of assays
· Data analysis, interpretation, and reporting
· Collaborative work with partners as well as other teams within the company
· Support with documentation and reports required for the process
· Resource management and sample tracking
Essential requirements:
· PhD in relevant subject
· Significant experience in stem cell biology, including differentiation and cell reprogramming
· Practical and theoretical experience in neuroscience, culturing and characterising any type of neuronal cells
· Experience working with human embryonic stem cells (hESC) or human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC)
· Significant experience working with in vivoassays – cell characterisation, experiment planning, data interpretation
Desirable experience:
· Knowledge and experience in other assays, such as flow cytometry or immunohistochemistry
· Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, RNA sequencing)
As a specialist of neuronal cell types, you will be an important part in the development and execution of experiments for this specific cell type, supporting the delivery of projects and facilitating technology transfer across teams. The position will provide the opportunity to be part of a highly collaborative environment, as well as independently drive the research.
