The Oxford Department of International Development is seeking to recruit a Senior Finance Officer who will manage and oversee the financial administrative activities of the ODID Finance Office in accordance with the University’s financial controls and is the first point of call regarding the majority of the accounts queries for the department. The postholder will also liaise with academic colleagues in the department, with funders, and with central university teams, particularly Research Accounts which provide support with the management of research projects.
The successful candidate will be AAT qualified, or qualified by experience in a similar financial role. They will have strong IT skills, in particular familiarity with using an accounting system to extract data and ability to use Microsoft Excel functions to analyse and manipulate data alongside enthusiasm for adapting to new IT systems or policies/procedures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in particular the ability to communicate complex financial information and financial regulations to people from non-finance backgrounds is essential to this role.
