We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised Senior Executive Assistant to join us to provide high quality business support to the Chief Executive & Deputy Chief Executive of Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent organisational skills, and will be adaptable, focused, and be able to build relationships quickly.

You will have significant and recent experience of providing similar support to Board/Executive level leaders (ideally gained in the NHS), be skilled at working in a fast-paced office, and be solution focused to manage various competing priorities.

Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, along with the experience and knowledge of diary and inbox management and organising and supporting Board level meetings to a high standard.

You will be required to make judgements on priorities, with sufficient understanding of the scope of the Chief Executive and Deputy CEO’s remit and specialist knowledge in the area of their work, to effectively screen, resolve or direct enquiries to the most appropriate persons.

Key duties:

  • Act as a first point of contact for the Chief Executive either by telephone, letter, fax email or in person, presenting at all times a welcoming, friendly and helpful attitude
  • Develop a network of key relationships both within and outside of the Trust in order to help facilitate the performance of the Chief Executive’s responsibilities and to enhance their reputation
  • Create and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, internal and external across the whole health economy
  • Support the Chief Executive and build effective relationships with other Board members and the Trust Management Team
  • Liaise closely with the Communications team on media enquiries which may be, highly sensitive, contentious and/or distressing in nature ensuring that the CEO, Deputy CEO, and other executives always remain briefed and up to date

Working within the Chief Executive's Office you will provide a full range of high-quality office organisational support services, including business management, and administrative skills, with particular emphasis on assisting the Chief Executive & Deputy Chief Executive in managing their workloads and priorities; meeting deadlines; preparing papers; minute taking; ensuring outcomes and actions from corporate and external meetings are communicated and followed up to maintain a professional and confidential service.
