About Us

Save the Children UK believes every child deserves a future. In the UK and around the world, we work every day to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, and children are most vulnerable, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We ensure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. Our successful candidate will play a key role in our drive to offer cutting edge digital-first experiences to deepen our engagement with existing supporters and win new ones to our cause. You will also help launch test propositions and know how to harness learnings and rapidly iterate. You'll also be up for being a champion of user centred design thinking and approaches that can add value across our work.

In this role, you will:

  • Drive the delivery of innovative and user-centric digital products and features, to solve complexities, reduce risks and find best solutions to project objectives.
  • Lead and develop concept and experience design on test and existing propositions: user research, UX flows, wireframes, prototypes, visual interface, and general visual aesthetics.
  • Lead experience design for new features on existing products such as our main website and e-commerce site
  • Inspire and set expectations, share best practice, manage, monitor, coach and help design capabilities within the organisation.
  • Monitor and keep up to date with content and user experience approaches, tactics and strategies relevant for Save the Children.
  • Ensure that Save the Children digital experiences are accessible and compliant with latest legislation and best practice.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

  • Proven experience of user centred experience design and iterative product testing.
  • Proven experience in articulating ideas and shaping key product decisions.
  • Experience in user research and testing, wire framing and prototyping (hi-fidelity).

  • Experience of working with developers using common tools and methodologies.
  • Attention to detail and proven experience of crafting high quality design.
  • Self-motivation with strong analytical skills.
  • Innovation and the ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to inspire commitment from others, and build strong internal and external networks.

We are not looking for just one type of person - we want to recruit people who can add fresh perspectives, innovative ideas or challenge that disrupts the risk of group think.

Whatever your story is we want to hear it because we know that different voices, ideas, perspectives and knowledge, working together will enable us to better the lives of children around the world. This is the reason why we are all here.
