At Ooni we want to help everybody experience the joy of making great pizza. We’re looking for a Senior Digital Product Designer to help us realise our dream.

A Little About the Job

You’ll be working in a team focused on creating a companion mobile app that inspires pizza making.

The role will involve collaboration with digital product managers and engineers as part of a cross functional software development team. You’ll lead on service and interaction design, coordinate user research, and evolve our interface design. Beyond the digital product team you’ll work with a range of stakeholders including digital marketing, brand, customer support and [hardware] product teams.

You'll have design ownership over the work in your team but you won’t be isolated. You’ll join a larger digital product design group and participate in our Design team activities weekly, such as weekly Work in Progress sessions, bi-weekly reading groups, and retros.

Please note this is a 12 month fixed term role.

What you’ll do:

• Designing digital solutions that support people on their pizza making journey. Developing a good understanding of pizza making will be essential
• Customer Journeys - We care deeply about how Ooni users feel, from first arrival on our website to making their first pizza. You’ll think about what they need and expect, and how our digital offerings can delight them throughout
• Championing accessibility as a core component of everything we build
• Delivery - You’ll be involved at each stage of our software delivery process and take part in backlog grooming, sprint planning and review meetings. You’ll be responsible for making sure design tasks are accurately specified, tracked and completed
• Prototyping - Creating mockups or functioning prototypes for deeper insight and feedback on user journeys. This could be for new features, specific interactions or whenever they’re needed
• Guidance and Organisation - Helping to define our design language with style guides for the wider organisation use and component libraries for the development team. You’ll use the latest systems and tools for seamless collaboration between design and development.
• Design Workshops - As we plan new products, features and improvements you’ll run design workshops with stakeholders and delivery teams to help visualise requirements and test new concepts
• Taking a data driven approach to your work. You'll use analytics, user testing, heat maps and customer feedback to identify issues and pain points. You'll also use data to understand how solutions perform.

The Essentials:

• You’re a world class designer. The projects you worked on in the past show that you care deeply about making digital products that customers love to use
• You have experience collaborating with software engineers, getting technical input from an early stage and organising design assets
• An up to date design portfolio including cases studies which describe the impact of your work in the wild
• You invite constructive criticism and respond positively to feedback
• Appreciation of and commitment to champion our company values: Passion, Rigour, Innovation, Ambition and Kindness.
• Love of pizza and cooking

You’ll get bonus points if:

• You have experience in mentoring other designers and helping develop their careers

• If you have experience working on live native mobile apps
• An interest in creating real user value through connected experiences with physical products
