Job description
We are looking for a dynamic and creative Senior Digital Marketer to join our well-established Sales & Marketing team and take a leading role in building and executing our digital marketing strategy. Working alongside a collaborative marketing team, the aim of this role is to lead all digital content projects in a way that drives new traffic to our website, get creative with campaigns and be responsible for PPC and social reach. Reporting to the Head of Sales and Marketing, you will be a serious reader who is passionate about books, have a deep understanding of digital marketing, and fully support the growth of the department.
The role
- Create wide-ranging, interesting digital content to acquire and retain serious and recreational readers, and to promote Postscript as an independent bookseller with a vast knowledge of books. This includes PPC, SEO, videography, email and social media campaigns, advertising, a book blog and promotions.
- Develop seasonal campaigns in line with market trends
- Liaise with the Sales & Marketing team to project-manage the digital content calendar, including the identification of key promotional opportunities based on internal and external trends
- Manage content across the website in line with the digital content calendar and catalogue schedule
- Analyse and present reports, on time, across all digital marketing as required
- Mentoring of the Digital Marketer
Technical
- Work closely with the IT department to enable successful production and implementation of digital content projects
- Play a leading role in managing external marketing agencies to ensure that sales acquisition targets are met, and content creation is optimised
- Manage third party marketing systems (email marketing, website content tools etc.) to ensure optimum performance. Work with technical teams to ensure integration with third party systems is optimised.
Essential Skills
- You will be a dynamic, creative and communicative digital content creator who is able to work across cross-functional teams while keeping books at the heart of everything you do. You will have:
- A deep interest and understanding of books
- Dynamic leadership skills
- Experience in planning multichannel digital campaigns
- A strong understanding of social media ad platforms, analytics, and scheduling
- A strong understanding of digital tracking, including practical knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and be adept at interpreting data
- The ability to deliver projects, targets and reporting requirements on time
- First class organisational skills with ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong knowledge of new and emerging trends
- Experience in line-management, team development, managing upwards and liaising between a range of internal stakeholders
- Highly creative and analytical
Essential Requirements
- Being a reader with an interest in books
- At least 3 years’ digital marketing experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent marketing qualification
- Hands-on and commercial approach
- Proven track record in delivering high performing content and an ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of working within a medium-sized, growing company
- Netsuite or similar ERP system experience would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Magento 2, Power BI and DotDigital including integrations (or alternative email platform/s) would be advantageous
