The University of St Andrews is seeking to appoint an exceptional Senior Communications Manager to join its award-winning Corporate Communications team.
Reporting to the Head of Communications, the Senior Communications Manager (World-leading) will promote research excellence, expertise, and education locally, nationally, and internationally, enhancing our global reputation.
The postholder will lead and deliver on all communications, internally and externally, for the World-leading pillar of the University Strategy 2022-2027. Working closely with the University’s Senior Management Team you will map out key communications priorities that shape the St Andrews narrative around research and research-led education. You will ensure we amplify the power of our research, unique initiatives and the people making a difference to the world in which we live.
You will develop high-quality, creative, and engaging content across multiple channels to engage a range of audiences, including the wider public, government and policy makers, our own staff, and students, press and media, prospective students and staff, and our local community to promote the wealth of research and academic expertise at St Andrews.
You will be an experienced communicator, with a gift for storytelling and creativity, a proven track record in developing content to the highest standards for use across a variety of platforms. The postholder will be sure-footed on social and digital media, with an understanding of the importance of planning integrated communications activities across multiple channels. You will work alongside Senior Communications Managers aligned to the Strategy pillars to ensure content is coordinated and in line with University priorities.
Working in a fast-paced environment as an integral member of the University’s dynamic Corporate Communications team, you will have a can-do approach and demonstrate the value of expert story-telling. You will play a key role in the team to deliver high-quality content for coordinated campaigns in support of the University of St Andrews Strategy 2022 – 2027. The postholder will also play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Communications Office.

Previous experience of communications management and strategy development at a senior level is essential.
