The Finance team is one of the largest International Operations teams, consisting of individuals who are involved in a range of activities covering commercial business partnering, credit and revenue control, finance operations, financial control and tax.
This role will support the Commercial Accounting arm of International Operations. International Operations comprises all of the support functions across the firm including Finance, IT, HR, Governance & Compliance, Pricing and Property & Facilities. This is a business partnering role to provide financial support to the leadership teams across the International Operations teams to ensure they understand and control their expenditure and headcount. The team consists of three people, this role, which reports into the Commercial Finance Manager, and one direct report, a Commercial Finance Analyst.
The Role
This role will support the Commercial Accounting arm of International Operations. International Operations comprises all of the support functions across the firm including Finance, IT, HR, Governance & Compliance, Pricing and Property & Facilities. This is a business partnering role to provide financial support to the leadership teams across the International Operations teams to ensure they understand and control their expenditure and headcount. The team consists of three people, this role, which reports into the Commercial Finance Manager, and one direct report, a Commercial Finance Analyst.
- Commercial Accounting Tasks
- Preparation of monthly and year end accruals and prepayments and to post journals as necessary.
- To produce reports and support GL and coding queries where necessary.
- Preparation of month end packs and departmental reports.
- Assist with budget attending relevant meetings, input into the budget model and preparation of papers.
- Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring the balance sheet position is reflected correctly.
- Participation in monthly finance results meetings plus departmental results with the relevant head of department. Support the Commercial Finance Manager with the larger functions and take the lead on [smaller / three?] of the functions which involves developing strong relationships with stakeholders and other support areas, e.g. HR.
- Line manage the Commercial Finance Analyst
- Assist in other ad hoc tasks.
- Take the lead on the production of the packs required to report in XL cubed [and develop the XL cubed reporting capability of the team].
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a finance department, capable of working on your own as well as in a small team. You will be computer literate (strong Excel is necessary ), and have experience of working with management information systems. We use XL cubed, which is an add-in to Excel as our reporting tool, no previous experience of this is necessary.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and book keeping knowledge including accruals and prepayments.
- Ideally the candidate will be newly qualified.
