Job overview

INTERVIEW DATE- 22nd JUNE 2023

Be part of an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver clinical health psychology and neuropsychology within our Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS). We are delighted to have been granted significant investment to enable our current service to move to compliance with the National Integrated Community Stroke Service Model. This will be life changing for our Cornish population and transformational for the service as psychological professions are introduced for the first time as embedded members of the team. This role will lead on developing and delivering this new offer in close liaison with the County Lead for Community Stroke Services, and will line manage the 8A psychologist.

Main duties of the job

The Cornwall ICSS delivers rehabilitation services across Cornwall. The introduction of psychological professions within a community team delivering physical health services for adults marks a new development for CPFT. The post holder will benefit from collegiate relationships with the Clinical Health Psychology Team and Network opportunities are available with other psychologists working in related services in the Southwest.

This position is open to those who meet the requirements of an 8B lead role we would also consider experienced 8A psychologists ready to undergo a preceptorship period (to be defined dependent on experience with agreed milestones to progress to the full requirements of the 8B position). Post holders will already hold the QICN Knowledge component or will be prepared to complete this as part of a preceptorship.

The intention is for the post holder together with the 8A role to develop a clinical health psychology and neuropsychology service.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to contact for informal discussion……

Working for our organisation

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
