Here at Serco, we’re looking for a Finance Business Partner (FBP) to join our Justice & Immigration business supporting 2 of our custodial prisons – HMP Ashfield based in Bristol and HMP Thameside based in London.
Joining our Finance team, you will work alongside the senior management teams to deliver against the key objectives and performance measures for the contract. You will have a strong relationship with senior leadership teams, in particular the Contract Director.
Using your proactive nature, you will be expected to act as a trusted point of contact for business leaders, transforming financial and non-financial information into insight which influences decision making to improve financial performance of Serco services.
This is demanding, critical role requiring appropriate professional qualifications alongside proven ability to understand and contribute to business strategy, demonstrating commerciality and customer focus.
You will collaborate with our business leaders in a complex business environment so you must have experience of adding value in a commercially orientated bidding and contracting environment. Strong commercial business acumen is key to drive deliverance of accountabilities which will include:
Shared ownership and responsibility of financial performance – c. £50m-£60m ACV
Drive margin optimisation projects through profitability analysis and efficiency recommendations
Highlight problems, offer innovative and practical solutions, and drive through their execution
Support business leaders to deliver contractual obligations through identification of over and under delivery, performing root cause analysis, and making recommendations
Proactive identification , assessment, and management of financial and commercial risks
What you’ll need to do the role
First and foremost, you’ll need to be fully qualified for the role (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
You will have strong communication skills and be comfortable at building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders through the sharing of knowledge and collaboration.
Key strengths will include adaptable, energetic and enjoy developing as a continuous learner!
You will be comfortable working in a virtual team however flexibility is a must – whilst this role is Home based, to ensure successful deliverance there is a need to travel to the prison sites to fulfil the role.
