An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Psychologist to work in our Home Treatment Team (HTT).
This post is available from 0.4 WTE (15 hours) up to 0.6 WTE (22.5 hours). The Trust supports agile working & the ability to work from home part of the time can be facilitated alongside flexible start & finish times.
The successful applicant will work alongside a psychologically minded team of nurses, medics & social workers basedat the purpose-built Crisis Care Centre. The HTT offering an alternative to a hospital admission for adults &/or facilitating an earlier hospital discharge. The HTT is in the process of applying for Home Treatment Accreditation Scheme (HTAS). Furthermore, the post holder will be a member of The Acute & Urgent Care (A&UC) Psychology service comprised of psychological staff working into three acute adult wards, PICU, Mental Health Liaison Team & two Older Persons wards offering many opportunities for peer support.
The successful applicant will be supported by a part-time Assistant Psychologist.
This post offers scope to shape job plan in line with service priorities & interests. Both direct client work (inc. home visits) & broader indirect work will be available. It is envisaged that this would entail consultation, reflective practice, team formulation & training. The direct work would entail supporting clients with a wide range of mental health difficulties in crisis by offering assessment, formulation & brief interventions.
This post will be supported via clinical supervision with the A&UC Consultant Psychologist & managerial supervision with the Team Manager. There are a number of CPD opportunities available (internal training programme alongside a ring-fenced support for Psychology training) to enable you to further develop skills. The A&UC Psychology meets for regular team meetings & complex case discussions.
Valuable experience to bring to this post would be previous work in crisis, hospital settings & working psychologically with staff teams.

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL• Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical / counselling psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS.
- HCPC registration as a practitioner psychologist
ESSENTIAL• Working as a qualified applied psychologist within the designated service including a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course & a range of clinical severity across the full range of care settings.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provides highly specialist psychological assessment of clients with highly complex conditions based on the appropriate use, interpretation & integration of data from a variety of sources.
- Undertakes risk assessment & risk management for individual clients & provides specialist advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment & risk management.
- Formulates plans for highly specialist psychological work &/or management of clients’ mental health conditions based upon an appropriate conceptual framework & evidence-based practice. Negotiates the implementation of such plans with clients &/or their carers.
