The salary for this role is set at £67,600 - £104,400

About the role
At a critical time in the Partnership, the focus of our team is transformation. In People, we’re supporting the business to transform, and at the same time, working hard to transform ourselves. The role of Senior Business Partner represents an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Executive team to understand and build strategic People plans that support the delivery of the Partnership Plan and our transformation.
This is a pivotal role in our People function, and a key focus for our Senior Business Partners (SBPs) is to act as both a trusted advisor and critical friend to our Executive leaders and their leadership teams, coaching and advising on all aspects of commercial, cultural and Partner-centred planning to put best practice in place. A key element of the role is the identification and development of great, inclusive talent in the Partnership.
As a Senior Business Partner you will be;
- Working closely as a strategic partner to Executive Directors, ensuring the Partnership has the right people capabilities to deliver the Partnership Plan, now and in the future.
- Optimising the performance of the organisation, increasing the effectiveness of our most senior leaders and creating the conditions for high performing teams; through regular challenge and coaching to the leaders you partner, helping them to transform the business and their leadership practice to develop inclusive and responsible leadership.
- Working across the People function to create and deliver a holistic and effective people strategy that ensures we have the talent and capabilities required to fulfil the aspirations of the Partnership.
- Leading a wide portfolio of work, including partnering Enterprise leaders on their organisational strategies, selecting and deploying talent strategies to drive talent development, retention and leadership succession planning.
- Partner across the Talent & Development teams including our executive talent acquisition on executive hiring, our leadership team on development for our senior leaders, as well as the talent and performance team in embedding our talent and succession practices.

Essential Skills
- Experience driving Talent and Performance agendas.
- Substantial knowledge of wider HR practices and industry leading practices in Talent and Performance.
- Ability to demonstrate intellect and capability to develop a well thought out people plan to underpin the delivery of the Partnership Plan.
- Demonstrable experience coaching and influencing senior leaders, with a focus on behavioural change.
- At ease with complexity and able to articulate a clear vision for the future.
- Experience at managing multiple programmes of work running concurrently.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, managing stakeholder with multiple important priorities influencing at senior levels.
- Strong influencing skills, including demonstrated ability to influence and drive results at all levels of the organisation.
- Strength in engaging data reporting & analytics.
- In addition, HR experience which is commercial, pragmatic, and ability to work at pace. Often needing to apply judgement to decisions, and using EQ as much as IQ to critical thinking.
Desirable Skills
- Recognised qualification in Human Resource Management, Occupational Psychology, Executive Coaching or Business.
- Previous Retail experience
- FMCG & Union experience would be an advantage
