We're on the hunt for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Audio Visual / Smart Home Engineer to join our dynamic team. Whether you have experience in this field or transferable skills that match our needs i.e electrician, access control and alarm industry we'd love to hear from you!

While we'd love it if all our projects were just around the corner from our Shrewsbury demo showroom, most are spread across Shropshire, Staffordshire, and the West Midlands. Travel is part of the package, but usually within a 1.5-hour radius of Shrewsbury, and without overnight stays, weekend work, or international jaunts. Our typical working hours are 9 am to 6 pm, but we're flexible with earlier starts and finishes if that suits you better.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Installing first-fix wiring, mounting hardware, brackets, and other components.
  • Physically setting up equipment such as projectors, TV's, speakers, projector screens and equipment racks, as well as conducting functional checks as part of commissioning
  • Reading, comprehending, and interpreting audio-visual system schematics and construction drawings.
  • Participating in construction site coordination meetings and collaborating with other trades.
  • Cable Installation, termination and labelling
  • Create awe-inspiring audio-visual and smart home installations that delight our clients.
  • Program and configure cutting-edge systems like Control4 and Lutron.
  • Conduct on-site assessments for spot-on system design and installation.
  • Solve technical puzzles and craft inventive solutions for optimum system performance.
  • Teach and support clients as they master their new systems.
  • Team up with contractors and colleagues to wrap up projects smoothly.
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of industry standards, products, and innovations.
  • Coach and inspire junior team members to reach their full potential.

Requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years experience in audio-visual and smart home installations and ideally have hands-on knowledge of Control4 and Lutron systems but we'll let that one slip if you tick the rest of the boxes.
  • On the other hand, if you come from a different industry but possess transferable skills that highlight why you'd still be an outstanding fit for this role, we'd be thrilled to learn about your unique talents and experiences.
  • Adept at conversing with both builders and CEOs, since our clientele is diverse.
  • A sunny disposition and zest for life, are essential for blending in with our team.
  • Solid technical experience in audio-visual and smart home systems.
  • Top-notch communication skills for liaising with clients, contractors, and teammates.
  • A knack for problem-solving and troubleshooting technical hiccups.
  • Ability to plan ahead, organise efficiently and work tidily.
  • A can-do attitude when it comes to juggling multiple projects.
  • Up-to-date with industry standards, products, and technologies.
  • A last man standing attitude, ensuring that you'll go the extra mile to bring the project to a successful close and put a smile on the client's face, no matter the challenges.
  • Valid driver's license and readiness to hit the road to client sites.
  • Relevant qualifications like CEDIA, PCNA, Control4 and Lutron are a bonus but not a must.
