Job description
K9 Protection Ltd are an SIA Approved Contractor based in South Wales, trading since 2011. We have an opening on an existing team for a security licensed concierge in a busy public building. We have a strong core team of guards, many of whom have been with us for several years.
The shift pattern averages 42.5 hours per week and runs on a 3 week pattern
The pay rate will be £11 per hour, providing you have been punctual and reliable for the whole pay period. Hours that fall on bank holidays will be paid at time-and-a-half. Hours that fall on Christmas Day, New Years Day, Easter Sunday will be paid at double-time. This is a PAYE role. We do not have the option to offer self-employed positions.
The task will be based around manning the front desk of our clients premises and answering basic enquiries, assisting residents with basic enquiries such as room lock-outs and tripped circuit breakers. Other tasks will include maintaining building safety with regular patrols and responding to the fire panel..
As part of the role, you will be required to attend two (paid) training shifts with one of the site's experienced guards.
You need to have basic computer skills. We use smart phones to log-in, make notes, and manage incidents, Microsoft Outlook for email & Excel for several log sheets.
Requirements:
An SIA licence in either guarding or door supervision is essential. A CCTV licence and First Aid certificate would be advantageous, but will be provided to the right applicant, as will Mental Health First Aid
A people-friendly demeanour with the ability to take a firm but fair approach. The role requires the applicant to be confident to work alone and to follow the assignment instructions in order to make decisions.
Being able to speak, and write in English is essential, and other languages would be advantageous.

Due to the nature of the client's business you will be required to undergo a standard DBS check at our expense, and the successful applicant will be contractually obliged to allow us monitoring access with the Disclosure & Barring service.
