Job description
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Prepare / assess Suppliers RFQ's / TBC / TBE and award of Linepipe Coating and Field Joint Coating. Assist in evaluation and coordination of all supplier activities of Line Pipe Coating (3LPP and Concrete) + Field Joint Coating of linepipes onshore and Offshore.
- Liaise with Engineering groups, PMT, Purchasing, Vendors Inspection and customer to ensure customer spec requirements are integrated into the Engineering and Vendor Data documents of Coating products.
- Initiate early review of QA/QC / welding, Testing documents to expedite early approval and accuracy of document prior to input the document control system (VDR + SDR)
- Resolve / propose technical solutions for issues that arise at vendor’s site. This role can immediately assess the situation, accurately report the condition and propose a logical technical solution that bears feasibility prior to submitting Site query and / or TQ.
- Perform audits of sub-contractors, vendors and suppliers to ensure they are in compliance to the agreed contract scope of work before or after award to determine compliance to requirements
- Responsible to ensure the smooth flow of information and coordination exist between MDR QC personnel, TPI, CVA and Client QC Team.
- Identify unique requirements like Coating PQT, PPT, Mechanical Testing (Destructive), preservation & cleanliness from cradle to grave and / or special processes and / or control & examination, including welding & NDT (Anodes) required for any specific activity during the execution of the project.
- Oversee the manufacturing processes, ensure adherence to related procedures, plans and effective stage / final component inspection and release process are adhered and ensure compliance to specifications.
- Provide interpretation of applicable code specifications and customer requirements. Any deviation, clarification and waivers are to be documented through the Technical Query System.
- Initiate Non-Conformance reports or identify issues/concerns, implement correction & corrective action as required, Initiate 'Fit for Purpose' evaluation for non-conforming items and to assist / advise QC and / or TPI on NCR.
- Liaise with the TPI / BC / Certifying Authority and Company on documents specified to seek verification, assessment and appraisal of their conformity and fitness to the codes and regulations.
- Oversee the As Built Project Certification as it is progressed through work approval packages and monitors progress/status of completion. Monitoring 'As-Built' documentation ensuring it is progressively compiled and approved.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent.
- Possess Engineering graduate and relevant experience of 10 to 15 years with minimum certification of NACE level 3 and FROSIO level 3 with Lead auditor training and Insulation certification from any internationally recognized.
- Experience in Line Pipe coating (FBE, MLPP/E), Field joint coating (SPU, GSPU, IMPP, PU, HSS, etc..), Insulation (Hot, Cold and Wet insulation), Passive fire protection and Epoxy coating of Subsea Structures and Piping.M11
- Performing the coating procedure qualification & Witness applicator qualification or trade test and paint system qualification.
- Evaluation of coating products/ manufacturer with respect to the project specification requirements.
- Evaluation and approval of blasting media need to be used for each project requirements in aspects of surface preparation requirements.
- Performing External audits on vendor facility in aspects of coating related activities.
- Knowledge in Materials Structural and piping (CS, Low alloy steels, High Alloy steels, Stainless steels, Exotic materials)
- Knowledge of Codes and standards (E.g ISO, ASME & DNV-OS-F101)
- Computer skills – MS Office and Good communication and presentation skills.
