Atkins are looking to recruit innovative Architectural Technologists / Technicians to be part of our Midlands, South-West & Wales Regional Architectural practices.

About our Offices in Region:

Our Midlands, Southwest and Wales region includes 4 offices: Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham. We have over 100 architectural staff across our offices with a particular expertise in Education, Commercial, Energy, Defence and Residential. Architectural staff include Architects, Architectural Technologists, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects and Building Surveyors with a balanced team of graduates through to senior professionals and directors. People are the heart of our success and supporting, training and mentoring our staff is paramount to Atkins remaining at the forefront of design and innovation.

Our primary focus is to ensure our staff are challenged towards professional growth within a new team in a multi-discipline environment.

Requirements for this grade:

  • The ideal candidate will have CIAT accreditation or equal and can demonstrate 5-10 years’ experience on a wide range of complex projects at different stages with a good understanding of the UK Building Regulations. Experience should range across different sectors working directly with the client, contractor and multi-disciplinary design teams.
  • The desired individual will understand the design process and would have the ability to deliver this from concept into detail design (RIBA Stages 3-7). They will understand how to work as part of a multi-discipline team, ensuring design co-ordination, interface resolution, clash and coordination detection on behalf of the project and reporting on model coordination issues. They are also required to produce, analyse and advise upon specification, materials selection and detailed design solutions in relation to performance and production criteria, as well as proficiently use NBS software packages.
  • The desired individual will also need to demonstrate leadership qualities with the view to providing a technical lead role on varying project types.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is essential with an understanding of AutoCAD, experience in advanced collaboration software (such as Navisworks), federation of BIM models, model checking, clash and interface management and on-site job running is desirable, however training will be provided.
  • We are looking for individuals who can consistently contribute to the successful delivery of projects with varying levels of complexity and ranging in size from small, medium and large-scale. Consistency and accuracy in all work produced is highly desired for this role.
  • The personal qualities required from the applying candidate should demonstrate Strong interpersonal skills, organised and efficient with attention to detail. Ability to work effectively, efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Flexible approach to working with a positive and 'can-do' attitude, self-motivated and committed individuals who can be both clear thinker but have the willingness to be a strong team player.

We offer a competitive salary that is regularly tested against other consultants with a default 25-days leave each year plus bank holidays and options to buy some or sell of that leave. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
