Security Officer - Bank
Cromwell Hospital, Kensington SW5 0TU
£12.95 per hour
Shift Pattern: - Rotating shifts 4 on/off Days 7am – 7pm, Nights 7pm – 7am, this also includes weekends and bank holidays

The Role
To respond to all requests for security services, operate systems and maintain accurate logs and reports, follow processes and procedures and generally assuring the safety and welfare of all staff, patients, and visitors. You must hold a Door Supervisor Licence SIA qualification and experience with CCTV operations would be an advantage.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Recognise and respond in an appropriate and proportionate manner to any situation which has the potential to threaten the safety or security or well-being of the hospital, its patients’ visitors and staff.
Maintain effective logs and records of activity. Promote, support and encourage the seamless flow of information both to and from the Security team and between the Security team and the hospital at large so as to be able to anticipate, rather than be reactive to, changing circumstances within the hospital.
Ensure you present yourself for duty in a timely manner and are dressed and equipped so as to maintain and display at all times the highest professional standards.
Monitor and control all access to restricted parts of the Hospital. Administer the ID access control system, ensuring that all personnel gain access only to those parts of the building that they have a genuine need and entitlement to access.
Carry out regular inspections of emergency as well as other equipment used in the department this includes wheelchairs equipment within the hospital as well as first aid equipment within the security services so as to ensure its readiness at all times for use in the event of an emergency and or patient requirement.
In the event of a genuine emergency and in the absence of the Security Manager and Security Supervisor, take up the duties and responsibilities of the Emergency Controller and liaise with all appropriate external agencies as stipulated within the Emergency plan as may be required or necessary to manage the immediate situation whilst awaiting the arrival of support and backup.
Investigate any patient complaints relating to provision of services and communicate outcome to the team to assist in learning from the observation.
Operate the Hospital Switchboard out of hours according to the Rota, dealing with incoming, outgoing and internal calls.
To be fully conversant with the Hospitals Fire and Bomb Threat Procedures.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospital industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules, involving a combination of daytime, evening/night-time, weekend and Bank Holiday working so as to deliver consistent standards of service at all times.
