Job description
We are looking to recruit a Control Room Operator to work within our busy customer services team, in our 24 hour Control Room, supporting the vulnerable and elderly residents of Swindon by providing professional, compassionate support.
This will include answering calls from Homeline customers, assessing their situation and taking the appropriate action, supporting the Homeline Response Officer to carry out their duties and responsibilities. You will also take out of hour’s emergency customer calls and respond to emails.
Your next role
Ideally you will have previous experience within a similar environment, although full training will be given. If you have good communication skills, with the resilience to be able to deal with potentially difficult/stressful emergency situations, together with lots of initiative and a passion to learn, we will support you in developing a career with Swindon Borough Council.
This role is working shifts to cover our 24x7 operation including weekends and bank holidays. The hours are currently 7am to 7pm (4 on 4 off rota).
Candidates must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act – for the effective performance of a customer-facing role).
