UniTrust Protection Services (UK) Ltd have an exciting opportunity available for a Security Officer to join our team. The role would involve you being trained on a number of sites across our London portfolio. In return, you will receive highly competitive hourly rates subject to the sites you will work across.

OBJECTIVE
To work as a member of the security team for the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment. Working within this high-profile environment your primary role is to ensure the security of people, premises, and property, protecting the reputation of the client/tenants throughout.
You will support the delivery of a truly exceptional customer journey for both staff and visitors. To achieve this, you will be/become well-versed in the processes and practices of a Security professional. Excellence in customer service will be at the heart of the role. You will be part of a well-drilled security operation.
DUTIES
- The maintenance of good order in all UniTrust sites including the protection of everyone therein against violent acts, abuse and accident.
- The protection of a client’s property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste.
- The protection of private property belonging to the client, their staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage.
- Prevent offences against the law of the land, UniTrust disciplinary codes and policies and ensure all are brought to the attention of the management.
- Access control for staff and visitors. Use X- Ray machines to carry out airport type of security searches, at any of the three entrances.
- Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and means of escape are clear.
- Maintain vigilance on the public within sight of all areas for damage, theft etc. and deal effectively with offenders
- Internal and external patrolling
- Monitoring and responding to CCTV and intruder alarms
- General security duties
Responding to: -
- All fire alarms and related emergencies
- Bomb alerts and all other types of related emergencies
- All other types of incidents (e.g. floods, gas leaks, defective lifts etc.)
- Intruders and other crime-related incidents
Other duties: -
- Providing reception cover as instructed
- Assisting with mail deliveries when required
- Carrying out in a professional and diligent manner all other duties properly assignable to the position of Security Officer
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications: -
- Officers must have attended the SIA required training and hold a valid SIA licence
- Officers must have at least 2 years Security experience, Police or Military experience is preferred.
Training: -
- Officers must undergo 3 days on site training
Aptitudes and attitudes: -
Post holder must be able to demonstrate:
- Good literacy and communication skills and have excellent verbal and written English, French will be an asset.
- Possess a good telephone and radio manner
Personal attributes: -
- A consistently smart appearance in the uniform provided and required by UniTrust
- Reliability, self-motivation, and ability to use own initiative and work without supervision.
- The ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people including the client, the client’s staff and visitors, in all circumstances including emergencies and other times of stress.
- Self-confidence and an interest in self-development.
- An excellent level of physical fitness to enable the post holder to perform patrol and emergency response duties efficiently and effectively.
Other: -
- Must be able to achieve high level security clearance, which includes a 10-year history check and detail background and criminal records checks.
- Must be double vaccinated for COVID-19 and be able to evidence this.
- The nature of the role is such that it is essential that the post holder has and will maintain an excellent record of attendance and timekeeping.
- Ongoing continuation security training will be provided, and Security staff will be expected to attend training course, self-development will be expected.
