Security Officer - Manchester City Centre Location
2 x Positions available | Full time - Monday to Friday 40hrs | Part time - Saturday & Sunday 20hrs
£10.65 per hour
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and vigilant Security Officer to join our team at a prestigious facility. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the premises, assets, and personnel within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Your keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a safe and secure environment by patrolling and monitoring the premises through physical presence, CCTV systems, and other security equipment.
2. Conduct thorough inspections of the facility to identify any potential security risks or breaches.
3. Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies, and alarms, taking appropriate action as per established protocols.
4. Monitor access control systems, verifying the identity of individuals entering and exiting the premises, and ensuring compliance with security procedures.
5. Effectively handle any disruptions or disturbances, diffusing potentially volatile situations with tact and diplomacy.
6. Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports, documenting all security-related activities, observations, and incidents.
7. Conduct routine security checks and tests to ensure the proper functioning of security systems and equipment.
8. Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, clients, and staff, addressing inquiries, concerns, or requests in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Security Officer, preferably in a similar high-security environment.
2. SIA (Security Industry Authority) license
3. Strong observational skills with the ability to identify potential security risks or suspicious behavior.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in English.
5. Demonstrated ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging situations tactfully.
6. A high level of integrity and professionalism, maintaining strict confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, displaying strong interpersonal skills.
8. Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
9. Physically fit and able to undertake regular patrols and standing for extended periods.
10. Familiarity with security systems and equipment, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
