A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SECURITY OFFICER AT THE GANTRY LONDON HOTEL
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following.
- Maintain a visible presence and monitor the premises to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and hotel property during day shifts.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of all areas, including lobby and corridors to detect and deter any suspicious activities.
- Monitor surveillance systems and promptly respond to any alarms or incidents that require attention.
- Enforce hotel policies and procedures to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Handle any security-related issues, such as disturbances, theft, or emergencies, in a calm and efficient manner, escalating when necessary.
- Assist in maintaining accurate records, including incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with other hotel departments, such as Front Desk and Housekeeping, to ensure a seamless operation and enhance the overall guest experience.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Security Officer, you will need the following qualities and skills.
- Previous experience in a security role is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
- Physical fitness and the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Good knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
- Basic computer skills for operating surveillance systems and completing reports.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is a full-time position, working during a 12 hours day shifts (4 days in /4 days off), with a rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
- Shift patterns can change without prior notice.
- The job requires the ability to work independently and sometimes in a team.
- The role may involve walking, standing, and patrolling for extended periods.
