An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trusts Security Team. The role will be based at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen sites. Working within a specialist team you will be responsible for assisting in providing a professional and effective security service tailored to meet the needs of the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust by:
Maintaining good order and preventing public disorder on all Trust sites. Protecting patients, staff, contractors and visitors against acts of violence, aggression and abuse.
Protecting Trust property against loss, theft and damage.
Protecting property belonging to patients, staff, visitors and contractors against loss, theft and damage.
The team work 12 hour shifts and are asked to work 13 shifts in a 28 day rota which attracts NHS Agenda for Change unsociable hours allowance.
To provide a professional and effective Security Service tailored to meet the needs of the Liverpool University Hospitals NHS FT.

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was created on 1 October 2019 following the merger of two adult acute Trusts, Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The merger provides an opportunity to reconfigure services in a way that provides the best healthcare services to the city and improves the quality of care and health outcomes that patients experience.

The post holder will provide emergency response to incidents on all Trust premises.
To protect staff, patients and visitors from acts of violence and aggression giving regard to their own safety.
To de-escalate incidents of disorder.
To maintain accurate written records of security incidents and complete the appropriate electronic incident forms, police witness statements and duty log.
To complete pocket note books to a recognised evidential standard for future investigative requirements.
To liaise with the Police as required including the submission of statements, preservation and correlation of any evidence that may be required.
To prevent the loss of property and carry out preliminary investigations into losses to the Trust, staff and patients.
To assist with the secure movement of cash, including money from
April 2021 vending machines, catering outlets, Fundraising and General Office.
To patrol the Trust sites as directed by the Security Operations Manager or duty supervisor.
To promptly respond to security systems including intruder, personal attack and access control alarms and take necessary action in the interests of safety and security.
Instigate Police response to suspicious incidents on Trust sites.
Respond to Major Incident instigation in line with the Major Incident Policy.
Escort lone workers or vulnerable staff where there is an identified risk and support lone workers in line with the Trust’s Lone Worker Policy.
To main records in respect of all lost and found property incidents occurring within the premises and to take action on such reports as directed.
To operate a secure key register.
To monitor fire alarm system, and investigate fire alarms and direct fire brigade on call out.
Maintaining clear routes for emergency services.
To complete all mandatory training and undertake any other training and updates relevant to the post.
Undertake any other duties relating to security which may be requested by the Security Operations Manager or duty supervisor.
Maintain a working knowledge of Trust Policies – Security, Dealing with Violence and Aggression and Lone Worker Control Room.
Answer all emergency telephone calls in courteous and professional manner.
Delegate and prioritise tasks to patrol officers.
Monitor Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) for all Trust sites.
Report identified faults in security systems to Estates Department.
Provide guidance and facilitate access to the CCTV system for the purpose of Police investigations.
Maintain CCTV logs in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998
Car Parking.
Carry out regular patrols of the Trust car parks.
Report incidents of unauthorised parking to the control room and/or the Car Parking manager and assist in the tracking of owners should they be required to move their vehicle.
Instigate Police response to any suspicious incidents or offences.
To assist as required in regulating the movement of traffic, and to organise and control the parking of vehicles on Trust property.
