Our stylish hotel which boasts inimitable river views and is situated between Lambeth and Vauxhall bridges, just south of the river. The hotel hosts 142 bedrooms.

Job Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, your role would be to minimise risk and provide a creditable level of protection for the Hotel premises, its guests, visitors and staff. This role operates on a 12 hour, four days on, four days off shift cycle, rotating between day and night cover.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To be the security point of contact when on shift
  • Reporting to the Chief Engineer and to represent the Chief Engineer in his absence.
  • Within the constraints of the law, company policy and authorisation by contract, is empowered to stop, search, and detain those committing offences against the company within the hotel.
  • To keep the Chief Engineer informed by observation and assessment or by information received, of any incident or situation, which could result in a loss to the company.
  • To carry out the instructions regarding the safekeeping and movement of cash.
  • To carry out the instructions for the control and issue of all keys.
  • To carry out the instructions regarding the control, safe keeping and documentation of lost / found property in safe keeping of the Security Department.
  • To carry out staff searches and checks as directed or when a situation demands.
  • To carry out such investigations and to deal with job situations as arise on a day-to-day basis, and to submit to the Chief Engineer reports as required.
  • To carry out their duties as directed in the company Fire / Emergency / Bomb manual and regulations
  • To carry out any other emergency procedures under the direction of the Chief Engineer.
  • To currently hold or agree to attend First Aid training in order to qualify for a current first aid certificate and to re-qualify to ensure currency of that certificate.
  • Ensures that he / she is fully conversant with the hotels fire and bomb procedure and attends fire-training sessions as required.
  • Reports to department head or to any appropriate department head, anything that may be considered a health safety hazard.
  • Assists other departments as required to ensure the optimisation of our guest’s experience.

Key Requirements:

You will be a positive, enthusiastic and resourceful individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to plan, prioritise, multi task and self manage, without constant supervision. Flexibility, adaptability and attention to detail are also key requirements of the role.

Previous Hotel Security experience is desirable, along with a proactive approach, strong drive for results and a track record of achievement, along with the ability to network at all levels.
