As a Graduate Design Engineer you will work on a variety of projects assisting teams in the design and development of commercial and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of the design team under the supervision of senior members of staff.
- Understand multidisciplinary design challenges and participate in their solution.
- Understand appropriate design codes, standards and design software and use them under supervision.
- Become graduate member of ICE or IStructE. Acquire knowledge of the attributes of a professional engineer and record evidence of achievement.
- Attend sites and projects where required to carry out site inspections and surveys.
- Understand the commercial requirements of projects and the company as a whole.
About You
Essential Criteria:
- BEng / MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering at 2.1 or above.
- Good level of computer literacy including MS Office.
- Training in the use of Engineering Design Software i.e AutoCAD, Revit
- Motivated to progress to Incorporated or Chartered status, as appropriate, within the ICE.
- Good level of knowledge and understanding of technical principles underlying Civil Engineering design and practice.
- Good verbal and written English.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in engineering principles.
- Analytical approach to problem solving.
- Positive, self-motivated and proactive team player.
- Open to working on secondment at Richter design offices throughout the UK as the need arises.
- Good communication skills and ability to express ideas.
- Well organised and hold the ability to prioritise work with an effective problem-solving outlook.
- Ability to work to programme deadlines.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- High level of personal and professional integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Receptive to constructive feedback.
